have i become southern californian?
it rained and rained this morning and when I walked to the bank, the gutters were overflowing, the streets sodden. I came home with soggy shoes and took a bath, oddly enough.
now the sun is out and its back to boring old paradise.
I'm using wireless for the first time in the downtown library. woo hoo! I love it here in the future! Tomorrow I go to Disneyland to meet up with the sobrinos. and then I'm going bowling. Tomorrow will be a good day.
I heart my new computer. Its gross to love a thing this much, but I don't care.
Weekend before last, when I spoke to my dad, he asked out of the blue, "How is your car running, by the way?"
"Fine." I said.
Later I was talking to cousin Mike and he said, very casually, "How is your car running?"
"Fine," I said, uneasy. Did these guys know something I didn't?
In the ensuing two weeks I have had a flat tire and my clutch went out.
I'm $600 poorer.
And I'd like to say Dad? Mike? Can you guys put the voodoo doll of my car away? Cause I can't take any more.
I'm on day five of Life Without Sugar. A little cranky. Afternoons are the peak time for the sugar cravings. Really what I want is chocolate, but sugarless chocolate is kind of sucky.
I just have to make it to Wednesday to finish my week without sugar.
In other news i bought a bunch of white ployester material and a Simplicity pattern 4795. Look out! I'm gonna sew! Now I just need some extra long brown hair. Can you guess who i'm going to be?
This Halloween is going to be great. Yippee!
I just learned where the Euphrates river is. Woo hooo!

Today I have to get from city college to Hillcrest in under thirty minutes, and I have to find a legal place to put the hunk of oil burning metal that transports me and I have to race to the store, strap on an apron and prepare to serve humanity. Wish me godspeed.
Luke and Lorelai together is actually a really good thing. (This is Gilmore Girls talk.) I was afraid of the shark jumping, but I think its going to be Ok.
Also, I had a dream last night that I had to walk over a narrow concrete bridge that lay flush with a crocodile pond. I could see their scaly backs rising out of the water. And, oh yeah, I had a baby in my arms. My baby.
Sometimes I forget that I am here to take care of other people. To be loving and kind. Sometimes I get mad that you aren't giving me enough. ME me me! But. Crushes are not Paying Out. Fights are flaring with people I like. I'm tired and my dreams are filled with being left behind.
And what of my Career That Never Was?
And what of my kids that have not happened?
And where should I be living?
And what is the Secret to Health?
I could go on.
