Nothing quite like a 5-day weekend.
but it should be worth it. make some money, maybe make some decisions about the future. other vague issues.
man, i haven't been training for like a week now. i ride to work, sure, but thats less than a mile each way, and its well under cardio speed.
my problem is an over-dependence on sleep, i think. the whole morning workout routine sounded like a good idea until i stayed up past 9:00pm and couldn't drag myself out of bed.
i think i need to start hiking. or some other sort of exercise that doesn't feel like exercise, and and start doing it after work.
..or during work. yea, thats it.
trying out MarsEdit, by the guys who brought you NetNewsWire (new NNW 2.0 out now too)
pretty good. easy to use. doesn't seem to do categories yet, though.yes it does, initially it doesn't quite know your settings (eg categories), you have to give it a username/password before it can "know" your blog. try choosing your blog and hitting "refresh" .. should do this automatically, methinks.
also would be nice if it automatically found your stylesheet for the preview. a la kung-log
these guys are good. they give out code, too. helping me help you.
Currently playing in iTunes: Worried Eyes by Eagle-Eye Cherry
but i signed up at freeflatscreens.com (same company as freeipod.com) and i think its gonna work.
now, i know what you're thinking: "steve, you're a chump" but im like 99% sure this isn't a pyramid scheme or anything like that. just annoying marketing that somehow makes someone enough money to give out TVs and ipods. so check out the following links for why i think its legit:
an actual wired article saying its legitso i signed up for dialup service through netscape. it required a credit card number, said it wouldn't be charged for the first month, and you can cancel before then. so thats the plan. there are other deals, all very similar with cancellation windows, etc. (eg colombia house)
so, who's gonna hook it up?

(you can do both)
recently i brought an extra monitor into work to extend my computer desktop. currently loving it. i have a set of starwars desktops that i had cycling between all the desktops for a while, but for now i've settled on The Masters.
oh yea, the extra whitespace is because my monitors are at slightly different resolutions (monitor from home is smaller)
went on my first real ride since moving up here to SLO (since before this blog, really). got home from work and took off down Broad St, wondering what was past the airport. after a few minutes of nervousness, hearing funny sounds on my bike, hitting a few good-sized potholes, and an overall fear of traffic, i relaxed, remembing how to ride. i found myself on the way to Arroyo Grande and decided to try to make it to the pool where andria was working before she left at 7pm (by when the sun would be going down, so i'd better make it or else id be riding home in the dark).
i got there at about 6:15, plenty of time. i was so tired after climbing that huge hill and almost getting run off the road on the way back down. i sat there and ate a balance bar until andria saw me and was all surprised. it was fun.
i decided to take off then and try to make it home before dark. i started to bonk on the way into SLO, just barely rolling on South Higuera. but by the time i hit Marsh St i knew i was home and felt alive again. i pumped up the hill and made it home just at dusk.
andria was home by that point, afraid i had crashed or something. we went to Woodstock's for dinner and came home and crashed. that was a good night.
