Hey Spidey!

My brush with fame:
So a friend is in town to watch his brother play poker in a tourney, and I tag along. After about 10 minutes we get bored (its really boring to watch live) and go off to play pai gow. Our dealer is very chatty and was telling us all the big stars there for the poker game (Leonardo Di Caprio, Toby McGuire, etc...). After about 30 min she points out some guy in a baseball hat and says its Toby (Spidey!). I wasn't too sure but took her word for it. 5 minutes later my friend says to some guy "hey sit down and play a few hands". I turn around and it really is Toby McGuire. He doesn't know how to play so the two of us spend the next 20 minutes explaining the game. He is right over my shoulder asking me why I play certain hands. After a bit he got bored and went to play roulette with some girl hanging all over him. I asked my friend about her and he said "she's cute" to which his girlfriend responded " He could do better".
After all this we decided that it would have been funny if, before turning around I had said something like "my spider sense is tingling..." but decided that was way too dorky...

Oh I miss Europe...

So just got back from 3 weeks in Italy and France and it was AWESOME, no doubt. Rome, Florence, Siena, Dijon (for 3 hours) and Nimes. Stayed in the hills outside Firenze. Ate great gnocci (?) prociutto, olives, cheese, osso bucco, and copious amounts of chianti. It seems that every time we thought we found a great wine, we'd stumble across a better one.
A visit with Lance (on le Tour!) was also key! In a tree 100m from the finish. Saw him ride by in a blur, with a thousand other fans. Now I can cross the tour off my list of things to see!
I still don't understand how we wound up swimming in a salt water pool in the south of france, but oh well...
As the French say... such is life...
